Week 16

I present to you: Meet Peanut.

Our semester has finally come to an end. Richard, Blaise, and Jordan spent the week before the last finishing up our animation. I am very proud of how it turned out. Then, in the days leading up to our presentation on Wednesday, we worked on populating our Google Slides. I created an outline/skeleton of our presentation and the rest of the team added whatever they planned on talking about.

The presentation itself took place at the Crow Museum on campus. A handful of people showed up. I think the presentation went smoothly, for the most part. I fumbled a bit with the slides, but overall it went well. I was pleased with how well some of our team members spoke. The audience seemed interested, and we were asked some really good questions at the end.

It doesn’t feel quite real that this project is complete. I’m so used to checking in with my team every day at 6 PM, used to updating the Miro board before class. There are a lot of habits I have developed that are no longer needed. A lot of skills, though, that I am glad to have cultivated. I’ve learnt a lot over the course of this project about working in a team, keeping that team happy and working hard, how a small production pipeline may play out.

While this last sprint went smoothly, with pretty much no setbacks or issues, we definitely experienced all kinds of friction over the course of the semester. Having worked through it has taught me (and all of us, I think) how to better deal with certain issues like communication or uneven workload. Despite some pushback from some of our members at the beginning of this project, our final product is something that I know all of us are very proud of. I am happy to have taken this class and received this exerperience.
