Week 14
For me, personally, this Sprint was a bit slow. As a team, however, we have made incredible progress these past two weeks. After our great client meeting and all of the feedback we received during Week 12, Blaise, Josie, Michael, and Richard have been working very hard to update our animation. Jordan has been editing as usual and also took on some masking work in After Effects. Mahsa was pretty absent this Sprint due to personal reasons. And, like always, I’ve spent my time keeping track of our progress as a group.
This Sprint, I kept up with the Miro board and regularly checked in with the team over Discord. I wanted to make sure that everyone was well-aware of what they needed to be doing, so every once in a while I would make a little announcement noting who needs to do which tasks and by when. Still, I feel like I didn’t do enough work this Sprint, like I didn’t contribute what I should be contributing to the team. Partly because I have been so exhausted/burnt out lately, and partly because I found myself at a loss for what more I could do to help our team. I’ve decided that I should begin work on our behind-the-scenes presentation and video, so that we won’t fall behind or scramble to complete it as we near the end of the semester. I know Mahsa has also been feeling like she isn’t contributing lately, but that seems to have been fixed as well with her new tasks of doing some more drawovers for the Marketplace shot. This upcoming week, everyone else just has to keep going steady on the work they’ve been doing in Unreal and After Effects. I know the 3D crew has run into occasional technical issues, but they’ve been quick to hop on calls with our TD, Tony, and get them resolved. We are working at a great pace.
We had another successful client meeting yesterday. We received minimal critique and a lot of praise. Our animatic looks wonderful. It was good to feel like we made progress. I am proud of how hard the team worked this past two weeks. I think we’re well on our way to completion in a timely manner.
